The following volume presents the maces, war-hammers, war-axes, and varieties in wich the latter two are combined with firearms called topors from the 10th century up to 1952 in the territory of Hungary. The majority of the weapons belongs to the weapon collection of the Hungarian National Museum, but some outstanding pieces from the most notable privte collections are displayed as well. Ornamented weapons of some well-known historical characters (Transylvanian princes, Franz Josepf I, etc.) are also presented. More than half of the 101 weapons in this volume are introduced to the public for the first time.
